TGIF! The weekend is upon us and I can’t wait to get out of the house and spend some time exploring the city these next couple of days. I have a long-time friend coming to visit and I’m excited to show her around our new neighborhood. Because I know we will spend a majority of our day out and about I will be packing my purse with the essentials I need to get me through the day. Keep reading to see what I keep in my bag.
Remember when I declared my love of peplum tops in my last post? I wasn’t kidding. Today’s outfit of the day features one of my favorite tops from Banana Republic in a beautiful shade of coral.
I love the way the color really pops, especially when paired with white bottoms. These distressed boyfriend jeans are my favorite (and pretty much only) pair of white denim at the moment. For accessories I chose to keep things fairly simple, wearing a crocheted pearl necklace (handmade by my great-grandmother) and a gold and silver tone watch.
I’m breaking in my new Tory Burch sandals I scored last week. I love how the neutral cognac color seems to go with everything. What are your favorite go-to shoes? Let me know in the comments below. Happy Thursday-we’re almost to the weekend! And as always, thanks for reading.
If you haven’t noticed, I’m totally head-over-heels for peplum tops. Anytime I spot one while out shopping, it always makes its way into my pile of items to try-on. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I find that the cut of most peplum hems is extremely flattering for my body type. It helps balance out my mid-section and adds a feminine flair, without being too over-the-top. I picked up this top last week, when LOFT was having a 50% off full-price styles sale. My only complaint is that it currently only comes in one color. I would love to own this blouse in several colors!
I’m excited to try this top with a pair of white or cream denim (still can’t find the right pair, as I mentioned here). In the meantime these dark cropped pair of jeans by DENIZEN from Target are perfect for running around this summer. They have a lot of stretch and give, making them super comfortable and easy to wear while out walking around. The ankle length hits me just right, and when cuffed give them the perfect summery vibe.
I recently retired my favorite pair of Tory Burch Miller sandals (they looked so sad, I couldn’t even bring myself to include them in ootd photos !), and replaced them with this fun perforated version. Since, I wore my Miller sandals so much, I decided it was worth the investment to purchase the new pair in both brown and black. My local Tory Burch Outlet was running a promotion where shoes were 40% off and an additional 20% off select styles. So, in the end, I was able to buy two pairs for just under the amount I would have paid for one pair at full-price!
What other good sales have people been shopping? Anyone excited for the annual Nordstrom Sale? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
Today’s OOTD features one of my most worn outfit combinations-denim on denim. I remember trying out the chambray trend years ago and being a bit self-conscious that I looked more like Jay Leno than all the cute bloggers on Pinterest, but since then I have fully embraced the look. And, by fully embraced, I mean I wear some form of this look on a weekly basis.
I recently stopped into Banana Republic while out shopping on Michigan Avenue with my sister, who is visiting from out-of-state. The store was having some great promotions- 40% off full price styles and 50% off all sale items, and an additional 10% off your entire purchase when you use your Banana Republic/Gap/Old Navy card. Don’t you just love a crisp white shirt paired with dark denim? This top from Loft is the perfect white tee dressed up with embroidery, giving it a summery, boho vibe. I kept my accessories simple today, choosing a few gold-accented pieces, but the possibilities are endless for this look! What are your favorite summer accessories? Let me know in the comments below.
Summer was in full force today. As temperatures begin to rise I opt for sleeveless blouses to keep cool while still looking put together. This particular top from Old Navy is lightweight and breezy, making it perfect for today’s 90 + degrees. Break out you favorite sandals and sunnies and you are ready to beat the heat! What are your go-to summer staples?
