While traveling over the recent holiday I ran out of my current concealer (I had been using this), so I quickly headed to the Walgreens to find something that would get me by for the rest of the weekend. Of course, I can’t walk into any store and solely look for my intended item, so I browsed the beauty aisles to see what was new. I came upon the Milani display and immediately looked for their newest foundation. I had been hearing great things about it on YouTube, specifically from Tati of Glam Life Guru, and since Milani products were buy one get one half off, I decided to pick up a bottle.
Now, for the details: the foundation is called Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer. It is 1 fluid ounce, comes in 14 shades and retails for $9.99 plus tax. The back of the bottle claims the product is medium to full coverage, has a lightweight, oil free formula, is long-wearing, water-resistant and sweat-proof. Sounds like all the things I want in a foundation, especially during the summertime.
One of my favorite things about this foundation is the packaging, it comes in a nice glass bottle and has a pump. Yes, a pump! It’s so nice when any foundation, let alone from the drugstore has a pump. It’s pretty much the equivalent to finding out the dress you picked out has pockets, am I right? Score! Right away, major bonus points for Milani! I chose the shade 01 Creamy Vanilla for my fair skin, and the shade is just the slightest bit to dark for me, but doable if I go light on the bronzer. The formula itself applied very easily and sets into a nice natural finish. I have used both a beauty sponge and a brush to blend this product out and both work seamlessly. The foundation easily evened out my skin tone and left me with an flawless base to apply the rest of my makeup.
For me, I would consider this formula to be full-coverage, but I know that coverage varies from user to user. For the most part my normal-to-combo skin is clear and I do not deal with much acne or scaring. I mainly use foundation to even out my skin tone and to combat mild redness. That being said, it is hard for me to determine if this foundation also takes the place of concealer. I will say that I did have to go in with a separate under-eye concealer to cover up my dark circles (I used this-the whole reason I went to the drugstore in the first place!). The overall wear of this foundation is great. As claimed, it is long-wearing and pretty resistant to water and sweat. I can wear this foundation for about 8 hours without seeing too much breakup or blotching. I still find it hard to keep from rubbing off my nose area, where I tend to get redness, but I imagine that part of that is oil production in my T-zone throughout the day.
All in all, I would give this product a solid 9 out of 10. It’s one of the best affordable foundations I have used that also gives me full coverage and lasts through a full day. If you’ve been wanting to try this foundation definitely give it a go! I Hope you enjoyed this mini review!
